Ahli Waris Sesuai Janji

Baca: Galatia 3:15-29

"Dan jikalau kamu adalah milik Kristus, maka kamu juga adalah keturunan Abraham dan berhak menerima janji Allah." (Galatia 3:29)

Alkitab berkata, "Dan jika kita adalah anak, maka kita juga adalah ahli waris, maksudnya orang-orang yang berhak menerima janji-janji Allah, yang akan menerimanya bersama-sama dengan Kristus, yaitu jika kita menderita bersama-sama dengan Dia," (Roma 8:17). Anak-anak Allah adalah orang yang lahir baru. Sudahkah kita hidup sebagai ahli waris?

Yesus Kristus telah meninggalkan bagi kita suatu warisan mulia. Paulus berkata, "Dan supaya Ia menjadikan mata hatimu terang, agar kamu mengerti pengharapan apakah yang terkandung dalam panggilan-Nya: betapa kayanya kemuliaan bagian yang ditentukan-Nya bagi orang-orang kudus," (Efesus 1:18). Ini berarti Allah telah memberikan kekayaan kemuliaan-Nya dalam Kristus sebagai warisan kita. O, syukur kepada Allah. Ini berarti kita memiliki hak dan keuntungan istimewa tertentu dalam Kristus, dan kita perlu mengetahui apa sajakah itu. Intinya, kesuksesan kehidupan kekristenan kita diukur dari pemahaman siapa jati diri kita dalam Kristus, apa yang kita miliki dalam Dia - dan kemudian memanfaatkan apa yang menjadi milik kita. Firman Allah memuat kehendak dan surat warisan Allah yang menyatakan apa yang Anda warisi.

Hak dan keuntungan istimewa kita ada dalam Kristus dan semuanya telah diberikan pada kita melalui Kristus. Sekarang tergantung pada kita untuk menerima janji-janji Tuhan sehingga kita bisa menjalani hidup kita dengan menikmati warisan kita seutuhnya. Alkitab berkata, "...selama kita belum akil balig, kita takluk juga kepada roh-roh dunia. Tetapi setelah genap waktunya, maka Allah mengutus Anak-Nya, yang lahir dari seorang perempuan dan takluk kepada hukum Taurat. Ia diutus untuk menebus mereka, yang takluk kepada hukum Taurat, supaya kita diterima menjadi anak. Dan karena kamu adalah anak, maka Allah telah menyuruh Roh Anak-Nya ke dalam hati kita, yang berseru: 'ya Abba, ya Bapa!' Jadi kamu bukan lagi hamba, melainkan anak; jikalau kamu anak, maka kamu juga adalah ahli-ahli waris, oleh Allah." (Galatia 4:3-7).

Terserah Anda apakah Anda mau atau tidak hidup dalam kebebasan yang menjadi milik Anda sebagai ahli waris Allah!
