Forever Friends

1 Corinthians 15:53-55 (NLT) For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory.O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”I spent last evening in a youth service with grieving young people. The young girl killed in a horrible tragedy had touched many and her kindness rippled through the crowd as many shared of her character even at the tender age of 16. Their sobs racked my heart. Why God? The grief counselors from the local high school were there – all believers – they talked with some, embraced others tightly and prayed with those who requested it. I was moved by the Presence of God in the midst of such sorrow and heartache. Hugging her mother, I prayed peace and strength walking through this week into her new normal. I could see the …

Udgaar To Rescue Indian Youth From The Clutches of Intoxication

By Satyendra Pratap Singh

India is a young country with over 60% of the population under the age of 30. if we use the youth power constructively India will again become a world leader and the most prosperous nation. But unfortunately, in the lack of proper guidance, people are wasting their time and energy in bad and unproductive things.

A large section of Indian youth is misdirected towards intoxication by glamorous advertisements. In this way, they are losing their potential to do great things for themselves and the country.ISKCON has taken an initiative and offered a platform through Udgaar Program for young people to express themselves openly and boost their confidence and self-esteem. The goal of the anti-addiction campaign is to empower youth to realize their true potential and spread goodness in society.A country is mainly represented by its youth because they work to build a nation and take it to the path of success. The future of a country depends on its youth that is why it i…

Not Normal - Mass Shootings and the Emotional Devastation It Brings

By Scott Marcus My purpose is to try and bring to you a glimmer of light in your day.As boldly evident, there is much darkness; and whether I write about habit change, attitude, communication, or attempt to crack wise; that objective remains my North Star. To stay true to course, I attempt to steer free of politics (although those who know me know that I have very strong opinions).

Today, I cannot be silent; it would be morally wrong. Moreover, honestly, I am also finding it near impossible to remain hopeful. That is not me.We are chewed up yet again by horrific, tragic, awful, terrible, unconscionable, outrageous stories of more mass shootings. This time, the names of the cities are El Paso and Dayton. (Gilroy, barely a week past, seems a distant memory.) I list only cities, as posting the victims' names would heartbreakingly take more column inches than allocated print space.I - and I imagine, you - feel like I have been rammed head-first through a meat grinder of emotions unwelco…

A Cuban Affair by Nelson DeMille

By RJ McGill

WOW! I can hardly believe it, I've been reading Nelson DeMille's books for almost 30 years. In all that time there's only been a few that flopped for me, I really liked all the rest. (Hey, I figure everyone is entitled to an oopsie every once in a while.) But A Cuban Affair is classic, smart-mouthed, DeMille at his finest.

Mac, a Highly decorated veteran retires to sunny Key West, Florida to operate his charter fishing boat, 'The Maine.' Mac wants as far away from the war as he can get. Problem is the scars people can't see haunt him more than the ones they can. Relaxing at the infamous Green Parrot Bar, he's approached by an attorney named Carlos who wants to charter The Maine for a trip to Cuba. With thoughts of his boat loan dancing in his head, he reluctantly agrees to meet the client, Eduardo who works with anti-Castro groups and a gorgeous, sassy Cuban-American lady named Sara, who he was instantly smitten with. Sara wants to retrieve a tr…
