Mengikuti Jejak Kristus : Karib Dengan Bapa

Baca: 1 Petrus 2:18-25

"Sebab untuk itulah kamu dipanggil, karena Kristuspun telah menderita untuk kamu dan telah meninggalkan teladan bagimu, supaya kamu mengikuti jejak-Nya." (1 Petrus 2:21)

Kamus Webster mendefinisikan orang Kristen sebagai orang yang percaya kepada Yesus sebagai Kristus, seorang yang percaya kepada agama yang berdasarkan pengajaran Yesus, atau bisa diartikan sebagai pengikut Kristus. Adapun bukti nyata bahwa seseorang disebut sebagai pengikut Kristus bukanlah KTP yang bertuliskan Kristen atau orang yang tampak sibuk ke luar masuk gedung gereja, tapi seorang yang mengikuti jejak Kristus dengan meneladani bagaimana Kristus telah hidup. "Barangsiapa mengatakan, bahwa ia ada di dalam Dia, ia wajib hidup sama seperti Kristus telah hidup." (1 Yohanes 2:6).

Mengikuti jejak Kristus berarti harus hidup dalam persekutuan yang karib denganNya. Mengapa? Karena Ia pun memiliki persekutuan karib dengan Bapa di sorga. Semasa pelayanan-Nya di bumi Kristus senantiasa menyediakan waktu untuk bersekutu dengan Bapa. Jadi, doa adalah nafas hidup orang percaya! Alkitab mencatat: "Pagi-pagi benar, waktu hari masih gelap, Ia bangun dan pergi ke luar. Ia pergi ke tempat yang sunyi dan berdoa di sana." (Markus 1:35).

Doa adalah tanda ketergantungan kita kepada Tuhan, bukan sekedar aktivitas rohani atau pengisi waktu senggang. Sebagaimana ranting tidak dapat berbuah jika tidak melekat kepada pokok anggur, begitu pula kita tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa jika kita tidak melekat kepada Tuhan Yesus, yang adalah pokok anggur kita. Hidup kita ini sangat bergantung sepenuhnya kepada Tuhan! Jika Kristus saja memiliki kedisiplinan dalam berdoa, sebagai bukti bahwa Dia sangat bergantung kepada Bapa dan karib dengan-Nya, siapakah kita ini sehingga kita mengabaikan jam-jam doa?

Sesibuk apa pun, baik dalam pelayanan, pekerjaan atau aktivitas sehari-hari, jangan sampai kita melupakan jam-jam doa atau bersaat teduh secara pribadi dengan Tuhan, karena doa adalah nafas hidup kita. "Berjaga-jagalah dan berdoalah, supaya kamu jangan jatuh ke dalam pencobaan:" (Matius 26:41). 

Jangan sekalipun melewatkan hari tanpa berdoa, karena doa adalah kunci kekuatan orang percaya!
