Pilihlah Aku

Markus 1:16-20

Kehidupan kita mulai dari bangun tidur di pagi hari hingga kembali tidur di malam hari tidak terlepas dari kata memilih. Memilih bangun jam berapa, apa kegiatan setelah bangun dari tidur, lalu mempersiapkan diri mengenakan baju yang mana, pergi ke mana dan jam berapa tidur malamnya. Satu hal yang pasti: setiap pilihan semestinya diambil untuk mendukung setiap kegiatan yang akan kita lakukan. Prioritas menjadi sebuah keniscayaan.

Tuhan Yesus juga melakukan pemilihan untuk meneruskan misi-Nya dalam dunia ini. Dia memilih beberapa orang untuk dijadikan murid-Nya yang akan mengikuti-Nya, mendengar pengajaran-Nya, dan akan menjadi saksi-Nya kelak. Yesus pastilah memilih yang terbaik, walau mungkin secara manusiawi kita berpikir "Apakah penjala ikan adalah orang yang layak dipilih Yesus untuk melakukan segala sesuatu dengan-Nya?" Tetapi, kita yakin bahwa Yesus tidak salah pilih.

Saat itu Yesus berada di daerah Danau Galilea, yang terletak di bagian Utara lembah Sungai Yordan. Danau Galilea dikenal juga dengan sebutan Danau Genesaret. Orang Roma menyebutnya Danau Tiberias. Penjala ikan adalah mata pencarian utama orang-orang di situ pada saat itu. Yesus melihat Simon dan Andreas dan berkata: "Mari, ikutlah Aku dan kamu akan Kujadikan penjala manusia." Mereka langsung meninggalkan jalanya dan mengikut Yesus. Demikian juga ketika melihat Yakobus dan Zebedeus sedang membereskan jala dalam perahu, Yesus memanggil mereka. Mereka pun bergegas meninggalkan ayahnya. Tampak nyata bahwa pemanggilan Yesus atas keempat orang ini langsung mendapat respons dan aksi patuh untuk meninggalkan jalanya dan mengikut Yesus.

Yesus dapat memilih dan memakai siapa saja dengan latar belakang apa saja untuk menjadikan orang tersebut semakin baik dan seturut dengan kehendak-Nya. Dan siapa pun yang dipilih-Nya pasti akan diperlengkapi-Nya untuk pekerjaan yang telah direncanakan-Nya.

Bagaimana dengan kita? Yesus telah memilih kita menjadi pengikut-Nya, mari kita lakukan dengan sepenuh hati! [KFT]
