Anugerah Keselamatan : Jangan Di Sia-siakan

Baca: 2 Korintus 6:1-10

"Sebagai teman-teman sekerja, kami menasihatkan kamu, supaya kamu jangan membuat menjadi sia-sia kasih karunia Allah, yang telah kamu terima." (2 Korintus 6:1)

Rasul Paulus menasihati jemaat di Korintus supaya mereka jangan menyia-nyiakan kasih karunia yang telah diterimanya. Kasih karunia yang dimaksudkan adalah hal keselamatan sebagai anugerah dari Allah melalui Putera-Nya, Yesus Kristus. "Akan tetapi Allah menunjukkan kasih-Nya kepada kita, oleh karena Kristus telah mati untuk kita, ketika kita masih berdosa." (Roma 5:8).

Kasih karunia atau anugerah adalah pemberian Allah yang diberikan kepada kita yang sesungguhnya tidak layak kita terima karena keberadaan kita sebagai orang berdosa. "Akan tetapi Allah menunjukkan kasih-Nya kepada kita, oleh karena Kristus telah mati untuk kita, ketika kita masih berdosa." (Roma 5:8). Karena kita telah diselamatkan, adalah wajib bagi kita untuk berjuang begitu rupa mempertahankan dan mengerjakan keselamatan yang telah kita terima. "...karena itu tetaplah kerjakan keselamatanmu dengan takut dan gentar, bukan saja seperti waktu aku masih hadir, tetapi terlebih pula sekarang waktu aku tidak hadir, karena Allahlah yang mengerjakan di dalam kamu baik kemauan maupun pekerjaan menurut kerelaan-Nya. Lakukanlah segala sesuatu dengan tidak bersungut-sungut dan berbantah-bantahan, supaya kamu tiada beraib dan tiada bernoda," (Filipi 2:12-15).

Banyak orang Kristen kurang menghargai dan memandang rendah karya keselamatan Kristus di kayu salib. Terbukti dari cara hidup yang masih sembrono, tetap saja berkompromi dengan dosa, terbawa arus dunia ini. Sampai kapan kita berlaku demikian? Jangan menunda-nunda waktu untuk hidup benar! Jangan menunda-nunda waktu untuk melayani Tuhan! Jangan biarkan waktu berlalu percuma dengan mengisi waktu dengan hal-hal fana. Tertulis: "...kita ini buatan Allah, diciptakan dalam Kristus Yesus untuk melakukan pekerjaan baik, yang dipersiapkan Allah sebelumnya. Ia mau, supaya kita hidup di dalamnya." (Efesus 2:10). Kapan kita harus melakukan pekerjaan baik itu? Sekarang, bukan esok, lusa atau nanti! "Sesungguhnya, waktu ini adalah waktu perkenanan itu; sesungguhnya, hari ini adalah hari penyelamatan itu." (2 Korintus 6:2b).

Kerjakan keselamatanmu dengan hati takut dan gentar sampai Tuhan datang!
