Renungan Pencobaan Ayub Ludesnya Harta Benda

Baca: Ayub 1:13-22

"Dalam kesemuanya itu Ayub tidak berbuat dosa dan tidak menuduh Allah berbuat yang kurang patut." (Ayub 1:22)

Iblis sangat tidak suka melihat orang percaya memiliki hubungan karib dengan Tuhan. Itulah sebabnya Iblis berusaha sekuat tenaga untuk memisahkan kita dari Tuhan, apa pun caranya. Salah satunya berusaha menanamkan keraguan dalam hati orang percaya mengenai kebaikan dan penyertaan Tuhan. Iblis tahu benar apa yang menjadi kelemahan manusia, karena seringkali manusia mengukur besarnya kebaikan Tuhan dari kemampuanNya memberikan berkat berupaya materi. Banyak yang berpikir bahwa semakin kaya semakin terbukti bahwa ia diberkati oleh Tuhan. Inilah celah yang secara jitu dimanfaatkan Iblis untuk meruntuhkan iman orang percaya, yaitu berusaha menghilangkan atau merampas harta yang dimiliki mereka. Alkitab menyatakan: "Pencuri (Iblis) datang hanya untuk mencuri dan membinasakan;" (Yohanes 10:10a).

Inilah yang dilakukan Iblis terhadap Ayub: menghancurkan segala yang dimiliki Ayub, karena Iblis tahu benar bahwa Ayub memiliki kehidupan yang saleh: "Sebab tiada seorangpun di bumi seperti dia, yang demikian saleh dan jujur, yang takut akan Allah dan menjauhi kejahatan." (Ayub 1:8b). Iblis mengira bahwa Ayub memiliki hidup yang saleh karena Tuhan telah memberikan berkat yang melimpah kepadanya. Iblis berkata kepada Tuhan, "Apakah dengan tidak mendapat apa-apa Ayub takut akan Allah? Bukankah Engkau yang membuat pagar sekeliling dia dan rumahnya serta segala yang dimilikinya? Apa yang dikerjakannya telah Kauberkati dan apa yang dimilikinya makin bertambah di negeri itu." (Ayub 1:9-10).

Bukankah banyak orang Kristen yang dalam pengiringannya kepada Tuhan hanya bertujuan ingin mendapatkan berkat materi? Mereka menganggap berkat materi sebagai ukuran kebaikan Tuhan dan hal ini sangat disukai oleh Iblis. Itulah sebabnya Iblis akan menggunakan jurus yang pernah ia terapkan kepada Ayub untuk menyerang orang Kristen. Iblis menghancurkan Ayub dengan cara mengambil semua yang menjadi kekayaan dan kebanggaannya. Iblis mengambil semua milik Ayub.

Iblis, dengan caranya yang licik, juga berupaya mengambil segala sesuatu yang dimiliki umatNya saat ini. Dan cara ini terbukti sangat efektif menjauhkan orang Kristen dari Tuhan.
