Tuhan Yang Menuntun

Baca: Mazmur 25

"Siapakah orang yang takut akan TUHAN? Kepadanya TUHAN menunjukkan jalan yang harus dipilihnya." (Mazmur 25:12)

Seorang dapat membuat pilihan hidup yang benar seiring bertambahnya tingkat kedewasaan rohani. Tingkat kedewasaan rohani tidak ada kaitannya dengan usia, tingkat sosial atau berapa lama menjadi Kristen, tapi berbicara tentang pertumbuhan iman di dalam Tuhan dan bagaimana mengaplikasikan ajaran firman ke dalam kehidupan nyata. Seseorang dikatakan dewasa rohani bila memiliki pancaindera yang terlatih, sehingga mampu membedakan yang baik dari pada yang jahat (baca Ibrani 5:14). Dengan kata lain orang yang dewasa rohani adalah orang yang takut akan Tuhan; dan terhadap orang yang takut akan Dia Tuhan akan menunjukkan jalan yang harus dipilihnya (ayat nas).

Rasul Paulus berdoa untuk jemaat di Filipi: "Dan inilah doaku, semoga kasihmu makin melimpah dalam pengetahuan yang benar dan dalam segala macam pengertian, sehingga kamu dapat memilih apa yang baik, supaya kamu suci dan tak bercacat menjelang hari Kristus," (Filipi 1:9-10). Untuk memiliki hati yang takut akan Tuhan kita harus bertumbuh dalam kasih dan memiliki pengenalan (pengetahuan) yang benar akan Tuhan. Jadi kasih dan pengetahuan adalah dua hal yang saling melengkapi dan tak terpisahkan.

Saat kita bertumbuh dalam kasih dan pengetahuan yang benar tentang Tuhan, kita beroleh kekuatan untuk membuat pilihan hidup yang benar. Saat kita memilih beribadah kepada Tuhan artinya kita datang ke gereja bukan hanya sebagai rutinitas belaka, melainkan bersedia mempersembahkan seluruh keberadaan hidup kita kepada Tuhan. "...supaya kamu mempersembahkan tubuhmu sebagai persembahan yang hidup, yang kudus dan yang berkenan kepada Allah: itu adalah ibadahmu yang sejati." (Roma 12:1).

Ibadah sejati berbicara tentang ketaatan, kesetiaan dan pengabdian kita kepada Tuhan. Kita berserah secara total kepada Tuhan dan percaya kepada setiap rencana-Nya. Inilah yang mendorong kita untuk menuruti firman-Nya dan mengikuti jalan-Nya, karena kita tahu bahwa jalan Tuhan adalah yang terbaik bagi kita.

"Segala jalan TUHAN adalah kasih setia dan kebenaran bagi orang yang berpegang pada perjanjian-Nya dan peringatan-peringatan-Nya." (Mazmur 25:10)
