Kelemahlembutan Tidak Sama dengan Kelemahan

Bacaan Hari ini:
Matius 5: 5 "Berbahagialah orang yang lemah lembut, karena mereka akan memiliki bumi."


Jika Anda ingin mengambil pilihan-pilihan yang sehat dan ingin kembali menjadi seorang Kristen yang seutuhnya, maka Anda harus belajar untuk menjadi lemah lembut.

Anda harus belajar untuk menjadi lemah lembut. Matius 5: 5 mengatakan, "Berbahagialah orang yang lemah lembut, karena mereka akan memiliki bumi."

Alkitab mencatat banyak manfaat dari kelemahlembutan: Orang yang rendah hati akan puas! (Mazmur 22:26); Tuhan akan membimbing mereka (Mazmur 25: 9); mereka akan menjadi bijak (Amsal 11: 2); mereka akan dipenuhi dengan sukacita baru (Yesaya 29:19).

Ada begitu banyak manfaat lainnya. Masalahnya, kita sering salah paham dengan istilah ini. Kita tidak benar-benar tahu apa itu arti kelemahlembutan. Bahkan, kita sering bingung dengan istilah lain yang terdengar sama seperti itu - "lemah lembut" memang terdengar seperti "lemah." Tidak ada seorangpun yang ingin menjadi lemah, maka tidak ada seorangpun yang ingin menjadi lemah lembut.

Tetapi sesungguhnya kelemahlembutan dan kelemahan berada pada dua spektrum yang saling berlawanan. Kelemahlembutan sama sekali bukan berarti kelemahan. Malah sesungguhnya, kata kelemahlembutan dalam bahasa Yunani secara harfiah artinya adalah "kekuatan yang di bawah kendali." Menjadi lemah lembut bukan berarti menjadi lemah. Kata ini bisa digunakan untuk menggambarkan kuda liar yang dijinakkan. Kuda liar itu masih memiliki kekuatan yang sama ketika ia masih liar, tetapi sekarang kekuatannya berada di bawah kendali. Ini adalah kekuatan terkendali untuk kepentingan si tuan. Tuhan tidak ingin Anda menjadi lemah, tetapi Dia ingin Anda menjadi lemah lembut. Alkitab mengajarkan bahwa itu adalah salah satu kunci untuk mengurangi stres dalam hidup Anda.

Berikut ini definisi sederhana dari kata lemah lembut: Lepaskan, dan biarkan Tuhan pegang kendali. Itulah inti dari kelemahlembutan; Anda berserah diri, takluk, dan setuju dengan apa yang Tuhan ingin lakukan dalam hidup Anda. Anda membiarkan Tuhan menjadi Tuhan dalam hidup Anda. Lepaskan kendali Anda dan biarkan Tuhan memimpin Anda.

Renungkan hal ini:
- Di area mana dalam hidup Anda yang perlu Anda serahkan kepada Tuhan agar Dia dapat mengambil alih kendali?
- Apa yang mencegah Anda untuk berlatih kelemahlembutan, dan menyerahkan hidup Anda kepada Allah?
- Bagaimana persembahan Anda kepada Tuhan mengendalikan dan meredakan amarah dan kebencian?

Jika Anda bersedia melepaskan kendali Anda dan membiarkan Tuhan memimpin Anda, maka itu akan meredakan amarah, mengakhiri rasa sakit dan dendam Anda.
