Forever Friends

1 Corinthians 15:53-55 (NLT) For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,   this Scripture will be fulfilled:  “Death is swallowed up in victory.   O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” I spent last evening in a youth service with grieving young people. The young girl killed in a horrible tragedy had touched many and her kindness rippled through the crowd as many shared of her character even at the tender age of 16. Their sobs racked my heart. Why God? The grief counselors from the local high school were there – all believers – they talked with some, embraced others tightly and prayed with those who requested it. I was moved by the Presence of God in the midst of such sorrow and heartache. Hugging her mother, I prayed peace and strength walking through this week into her new normal. I could

Cerpen The Painter’s Masterpiece

It was apparent to be a pleasure for Amir, a twenty-one-year-old young man to earn money from his paintings. Last week, one of his paintings had been bought by a rich businessman, and the generous businessman gave twenty million rupiahs for the beautiful painting. Amir never had twenty million rupiahs in his life. He lived in a poor neighborhood with his mom. He quitted school when he was 15 years old because of poverty. He had to work in a fertilizer store since then. The fertilizer store had been closed a year ago, and Amir lost his job and started to develop his talent through painting. One day, when Amir was painting on a canvas in his tiny bedroom, his mom got in. “Amir, what are you doing, child?” asked his old mom, with a heavy cough in her voice. “I’m painting, Mom. Look, it’s a wonderful land I dreamt last night. It seems very perfect, doesn’t it? Posh castle on cloud, colorful flowers and trees around it, and…”, before Amir could finish his word, his Mom cut, 'Yes, I

Cerpen The Chokepoint

Corporal Ramsey bends on his knees, trying to catch a breath that might be his last. He's coughing blood, caused by a fatal wound on his chest. It was an exit wound, and he was lucky enough to be alive even for just a moment. It was raining; thick mist shrouded the area Bradley's Squad was on. Sergeant Bradley closes his eyes as he watches one of his men getting killed in front of his eyes, by his own indecency. His command and his bad call led his company to the enemy's chokepoint, where there were ambushed by the enemy's recon unit. The second shot from the church tower window marks an exclamation of Corporal Ramsey's demise, a clean shot right between his eyes. 'Sh*t! Ramsey!' Cry Private William. 'What do we do now, Sergeant?' Ask the squad's medic. 'Try to get a hold of yourself, Private. We can get through this.' Sergeant Bradley tries to reassure his squad. 'We have to get through this.' The projection of his family

Renungan Didikan Mendatangkan Kebaikan

Renungan Jangan Sampai Lupa diri

(ayat 11). Tuhan sungguh tak senang pada kecongkakan! Betapa pun megah, besar dan populernya kita, bila k

Renungan Tuhan Yang Menyertai Kita

(2 Tawarikh 31
