Rituals to Practice that will Change your Life

A good day starts with a nice morning ritual. How you spend your morning determines how you spend the rest of the day. If you can start your day with a few of the following morning rituals then you’ll surely have the life other people would want to look upto. You will be more productive and mindful in everything you do. The following are some of the best things you can include in your morning ritual.


Wake up Early

It is said that “Early bird catches the worm.'' When you wake up early you gain more control of your life. You are able to plan and do things more effectively. Many successful and popular CEOs get up early in the morning. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is out of bed by 5:45 am, GE CEO Jeff Immelt gets up at 5:30 a.m., Xerox CEO Ursula Burns rises at 5:15 a.m. and Apple CEO Tim Cook set his alarm for as early as 3:45 a.m.By getting up early you have plenty of time to do other activities. So if you are not an early riser then be one from today and see what changes it brings to your life.


Practise meditation

Meditation helps you to re-energize yourself. It is like taking a bath or shower to clean our mind like we take a shower in the early morning to clean our body and carry out our daily activities. Even a 5min breathing meditation can set your day right. Psychologist Emma Sepala, the author of The Happiness Track, calls it "conscious breathing."  .It helps to rejuvenate and restore yourself before starting your daily activities.


Eat healthy breakfast

Eating healthy and nutritious breakfast can boost your energy levels and improve your brainpower. It can also increase your concentration level and your ability to handle stress, improving your overall well-being. Moreover, If you are healthy you are more likely to be productive and less likely to fall sick.


Exercise

The former first lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama told that she gets up as early as 4:30 am to do the workout. It keeps her from being depressed. Doing 15- 20 min exercise daily is beneficial for your health. It keeps your mind and body in harmony. It increases the production of serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitters which improves your mood and long term memory respectively. It also boosts your will-power.


Figure out  your MITs (Most Important Tasks)

This is a very practical ritual. Start your day by identifying and writing down one or two of the most important tasks you need to complete that day. These tasks will support long term goals and are aligned to your purpose, passion or general direction of your life. For example, writing a book or building an online website is your long term goal, then writing a page or two or providing fresh content for your website daily will be your important task for the day.


Start your day off right by doing something you love

Make your morning routine 100% positive by doing something you love. Everyone’s interests might be different. For some it might be writing a page or two, for some eating, listening to music and for others, it might be dancing. It can be something which causes you to think, something which is physical or something which makes you feel young again. So what are you interested in? Find out. Start off positive and the rest of the day can be taken in stride.
